The 11th International Conference on thermochronometry was held from 15-19 September 2008 in Anchorage, Alaska. The venue was The Hotel Captain Cook in downtown Anchorage.
This meeting focussed on the theory and application of fission track, helium, and argon dating. The following broad areas were the scientific focus of the meeting:
1) New analytical developments in helium dating and fission-track analysis
2) Thermochronology of orogenic belts
3) Detrital thermochronology, provenance, and basin analysis
4) Thermochronology of sedimentary basins
5) Kinetics and thermal modeling
6) The thermotectonic framework of Alaska and adjacent areas.
The meeting also included sessions for the the IGCP workshop "Low-temperature thermochronology: applications and inter-laboratory calibration"
