Coverage
- The coverage of the Midterm is all
the material in chapters 1, 2, 3, 4,
5, handout [3A], AND
the material covered in class. Any articles I will have
e-mailed you by mid-term time are also included.
- Please see handouts [1], [2], [3] and [4] for details of
which questions you may skip.
Question types (based on material covered in class,
in the textbook and in MyEconLab)
- There will be no multiple-choice questions.
- There will be some computational questions.
- There will be some questions involving short answers
and/or graphs.
Date, time, and place
- The Midterm will take place on Thursday, February 7,
in our regular classroom (Wold 225). It will run through the
entire class period.
What to bring
- Make sure to bring a basic calculator, ruler, and a
writing implement. Paper will be provided. There is NO
pencil-sharpener in the room. The use of a cell phone as a
calculator, or for any other purpose, will not be allowed.
Other matters
- This is a CLOSED-BOOK exam.
- I will give you a copy of Handout [3A] "as is". However, you need to know what the concepts mean,
be able to do "man-in-the-street" explanations, etc., etc. Also,
you need to know how to do the balance sheets on page 1 of [3A].
- There will be NO EXTENSION of the time
period. Time management is part of the educational
process. All exams will be collected at the end of the class
period. You may
leave earlier if you finish earlier.
- Answers to end-of-chapter questions are on reserve
at the Library.
