Economics 498 and 499

Presentations to the Group
Eshragh Motahar/Fall 2023-Winter 2024

Our presentations sessions will be during the 7th week of the Fall term (10/18-10/24).  The date, time and location will be determined later.  Each of you is expected to make a 10-15 minute presentation based on the work that you have done for your thesis thus far.  You must include in your presentation answers to the four questions that we talked about at the beginning of the term.  That is:

-What is your thesis question/hypothesis?
-What is the economic importance/relevance of the thesis question/hypothesis?
-What is the connection (topic/methodology) between your thesis and the existing literature?
-What is your expected contribution?

Each presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.  The total time for each presentation (including Q&A) shall not exceed 20 minutes.  All students in the group are expected to very actively participate in the Q&A sessions.

You may use PowerPoint, handouts, the whiteboard, or any other device that might help make your presentation clearer.

We do not need to meet individually during that week.  Because of the large size of my thesis group this year, we may need two presentations sessions.
