Investigate each of these photographers further on the web.
Make some notes about your reaction to how they photograph people in your notebooks.
This is NOT a written assignment that you will have to hand in, but I will review your notebooks.

Make photographs of people
Photograph subjects in the following ways:

Directorial Mode
Ask someone [a person you know or a person you think would be interesting as a subject] to pose for photographs for you.  Control everything about the shoot – location, possibly attire, when the light will be good, where the subject is positioned.

Candid photographs of strangers
In this mode of making photographs of people you do not interfere with what is happening, but photograph candidly.  It is legal to take a photo of anyone in a public situation without asking permission – legally it is considered public domain.  The  key is to do it in  a respectful way.

Diversity, Differences and Unity
Look up the definitions for those words and do a picture of a person/persons using the definitions the idea for the picture.  It can be candid or directorial mode; it can be of subjects you do or don’t know.

Photographs of each other
These we will do in the next class, bring cameras and film, and be ready to be photographed.

Your final assignment must contain your best photograph from each of these 4 requirements.
Minimum to shoot – 1 roll of each other plus 3 rolls of film for the other three components.
