Pictus
Interruptus
Photographer Ray K. Metzker produced a series
titled Pictus Interruptus.
In these highly abstract and mysterious works, he challenged the traditional notion documentary photography by staging events in front of the camera, and then making straightforward exposures. He brought his mastery of printmaking to the darkroom to produce prints that are at once seemingly real but impossible to fully describe.î
