Please include this cover sheet, and attach the following documents to your application:

Proposal:

Detail the nature and significance of your project. Proposals can be for wholly new interdisciplinary courses, course modules, or revisions to all or parts of existing courses.  Specify how technology will improve the interdisciplinary nature of the course, such as enabling material to be offered in the absence of one or more team members. Be specific detailing what you will produce, and how you will judge your success. Indicate the time frame in which you will carry out your project.

Budget:

Include a brief proposed budget. The Mellon Grant allows for proposals to be funded at up to $5000 per project, although exceptions will be considered for programmatic projects or projects involving teams of three or more individuals. Limited additional funding is available for audio-visual-computer technical support. Applicants planning to do their work over the summer should consider applying for a summer student intern. If the project requires new equipment or software consider jointly applying to IEF.

Proposals for Mellon support are due in the Associate Dean for Information Technology, Prof. Doug Klein, Department of Economics. Proposals should be 2-4 pages in length (double-spaced) and should focus on how the instructors will ensure disciplinary integration in their proposed course or course module.  Direct questions to Doug Klein, kleind@union.edu.  Awards will be announced on a rolling basis.
