The Congressional Record was preceded by the Annals of Congress (1789-1824), the Register of Debates in Congress (1824-1837), and the Congressional Globe (1837-1873). Index at end of each session. After 1920, index is in print in rear of microforms area.

The Merchants' Magazine and Commercial Review (1839-1860). Library holdings from Volume I, shelved with periodicals. Contains data and articles on industry and trade, and trade policy.

The North American Review. Schaffer Library has complete holdings from volume 1 (1815) shelved with periodicals.
