Week #1
Labs will start Thursday 09/08/22. Please read Lab #1 before coming to class.
Week #2
Lab #2 will be on Thursday 09/15/22. Please read Lab #2 before coming to class.
Quiz #1 will be on Friday, September 16, 2022 and will cover vectors, charge, electric force and electric fields.
Week #3
There will be no lab this week.
Quiz #2 will be on Friday, September 23, 2022 and will electric fields from distributions of charge, work, work-kinetic energy theorem, electric potential and electric potential energy.
Week #4
Lab #3 will be on Thursday 09/29/22. Please read Lab #3 before coming to class.
Exam #1 will be on Friday, September 30, 2022 and will cover chapters 21, 22, & 24. In particular topics will include electric field from distributions of charge, electric force on charges in electric fields, point charge electric fields and forces, work, work-kinetic energy theorem, electric potential, electric potential energy, vectors, and relation between electric field and electric potential.
Week #5
There will be lab on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Please read lab #4 before coming to class.
Quiz #3 will be on Friday, October 7, 2022 and will cover the relation between electric potential and electric field, capacitors, capacitance, and RC circuits.

Week #6
There will be lab on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Please read lab #5 before class.
Quiz #4 will be on Friday, October 14, 2022 and will cover capacitors, discharging capacitors, dielectrics, drift speed of charge carriers in conductors, resistance, resistors, and Ohm's law.
Week #7
There will be lab this Thursday (10/20/22). Please read Lab #6 before lab.
Quiz #5 will be on Friday, 10/21/22 and will cover Ohm's law, resistor circuits, and power.
Week #8
There will be lab on Thursday, 10/27/2022. Please read Lab #7 before lab.
Exam #2 will be on Friday, October 28, 2022 and will cover Chapters 24, 25, 26, 27, & 28. Topics include electric work, electric potentiual energy, electric potential, currents, circuits (RC and R), capacitance, resistance, magnetic forces on charges and currents in wires.
Week #9
There will be no lab this week.
Quiz #6 will be on Friday, 11/4/22 and will cover the Biot-Savart law, magnetic fields from currents in long-straight wires, and magnetic forces on wires.
Week #10
Quiz #7 will be on Friday, 11/11/22 and will cover Faraday's law, induced currents, and magnetic forces on wires with current.
There will be no lab on Thursday, 11/10/22.

Fall 2022 Final Exam Information:
Physics 121 Final Exam: Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 8:30am - 10:30am in ISEC 106
There are 6 problems on the exam. Each problem is 24 points consisting of three free response parts at 8 points each. The final exam is out of 144 points.
Exam Topics
1. Electrostatics: Charges, electric fields and forces; electric potential energy, electric potential, and elecectric work.
2. Resistor Circuits: Current, electric potential, electric fields, resistance, and resistors in series & parallel.
3. RC Circuits: Capacitors, resistors in series & parallel, time constants, charging & discharging capacitors, and energy stored in a capacitor.
4. Magnetism: Charge, magnetic fields, magnetic force on charges, electric forces & electric fields, electric potentials, electric work, and the work-kinetic energy theorem.
5. Magnetism: Mangnetic fields and forces on currents in wire , currents, ohm's law, and Newton's laws of motion.
6. Faraday's law: Resistance, resistors, current, ohm's law, electric potential, Faraday's law, and magnetic flux.
