COLOR AS EMPHASIS- Compose a scene where your eye is drawn to one area because of a strong color.

MONOCHROMATIC COLOR- Subject is one color (one hue). Highlights and shadows create values of this color.

COLOR AT NIGHT- Shoot at night with your camera set on automatic mode. Use long exposures to capture color/try different settings and compare.  You will probably need a tripod.

WHITE- Photograph something white. The subject absorbs/reflects the colors that surround it.

LIGHT & COLOR AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF DAY- Select a scene. Shoot this SAME scene THE SAME WAY [from the same place] in the early morning [before 8 AM], between 12 noon and 1 PM,  and also in late afternoon light [4-6 PM now] – later as the term goes on and the clocks “spring” ahead one hour.

CLOSE-UP- Isolate a part of your subject and shoot very close up.  From this learn how close your camera will focus. The pictures must be sharp! You should take the pictures with the camera focused as close as it will go.
