A Survey of French Literature I

This course examines the evolution of French literature from the earliest writings through the age of Enlightenment. Through different representative French writers in different genres, we will explore a variety of topics including love, religious and moral values, socio-political stratifications and economic trends in France from the Middle Age through the era just before the French Revolution in 1789.
