ExpertTA does not have the ability to give partial credit. If you would like to earn some partial credit for the final, then you need to work out the problems on separate sheets of paper, scan those sheets into a .pdf file and email them to me. Do not email a series of separate pictures. Scanning and sending your work as a .pdf file can be done in many ways and below are two of them you can use on your phone. There are many more available if you do a google search. Whatever method you decide you use, you need to try out the particular way you’d like to use before the exam. Don’t wait until after the exam to realize you don’t know how to scan your work.
If you want to earn partial credit, your work
1. Must be received by 4:50pm eastern standard time on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Any files received after 4:50pm will not be looked at.
2. Must have your name on every page, all problems need to be in order and numbered, and on the last page, write the honor code and sign your name with the date. The honor code: I affirm that I have carried out my academic endeavors with full academic honesty.
3. Must match your answers submitted on ExpertTA. Whatever is recorded and submitted as your final answer on ExpertTA must be your final answer on your work. You cannot change or edit your work after the exam is over.

These are some general ways to scan your files on your phone:
• If you have an Android phone: I do not have an android phone, but a colleague of mine sent me this. Download the google drive app if you don’t already have it. Then open google drive from your phone, and click the little plus in the bottom corner, choose "scan". Then you can take a series of pictures, and save them together as a single pdf. After you take a picture, click on the plus at the bottom to add another 'page" and when you are done, click on the checkmark to save it as a single pdf. From here you can share the file on your drive with me or email the file to me.
• If you have an iPhone: Use the Notes feature. Open Notes and you should get a screen with a toolbar at the bottom. If you get a keypad, select done on the upper right-hand corner. I have an iPhone, and on my toolbar, I have a trashcan, checkmark, camera, and pens. Select camera and when this opens you can choose to scan documents. Select scan documents and start scanning your work. After every picture, select keep scan. When you’re done select save on the lower right-hand corner. Then in the upper right-hand corner choose upload and mail your file to me or save it in your google drive and share it with me (if you have the app on your iPhone).

The Physics 120 final exam will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm ONLINE.
The final exam will be given on ExpertTA.
The final exam should be visible on Thursday, March 19 at 12:00pm. You need to make sure that you can see the final exam before 2:30pm. If you cannot see the exam (named Final Exam) you need to email, call or text me before 2:30pm. The exam will not be restarted once it begins at 2:30pm. My phone numbers are in the email you received
I will be available before and during the exam. You may email, call or text.
You will have two hours to submit your answers to the questions and the final will close at 4:30pm. NO extensions will be allowed.
The exam will consist of 6 problems each with 4 parts.
You will have 5 attempts per problem to submit your final answer. No feedback or hints will be given. You will also not be told whether or not your answer is correct, only that it has been sumbitted.
I would suggest using a wired internet connection and find a quiet place for taking the exam. No restarts will be given for internet connectivity issues or any other commotion in your surroundings.
You may use your notes from class, textbook, previous homework assignments and the formula sheet from class, only. You may not neither look up answers online nor talk to anyone else about the problems. This is a violation of the honor code and if there is a suspicion of cheating it will be brought to the honor council. Please don't cheat.
In light of the current situation, the final exam will only be worth 25% of your final grade in the course. The remaining 5% of your final grade will be given to the homework (5% more). The final grade breakdown will be as follows: Homework (10%), Quizzes (15%), In-class Exams (30%), Laboratory (20%), & Final Exam (25%).
Final Exam topics by problem
1. Vectors, motion, equations of motion for constant acceleration, forces, gravity.
2. Forces and translational motion.
3. Energy, work & energy, types of energy, conservation of energy.
4. Momentum, forces, conservation of momentum, types of collisions.
5. Rotational motion, torque, angular momentum, moments of inertia, rotational energy.
6. Torque and rotational motion.
